A LITTLE CONTEXT
I’m Mat Ellis. I’ve spent much of my life building companies with other people. I founded Cloudability in 2011. Our team’s work, alongside a growing community, helped shape what became FinOps. Cloudability became part of Apptio in 2019.
These days I’m building Sixty AI and backing founders through Cloudy Ventures. I also take on a small number of advisory and fractional executive engagements with Pacific Northwest companies working in SaaS, AI and infrastructure.
Portland is home. I’m a longtime supporter of its startup community and of non-profits focused on education. I’m interested in what technology can make possible and in helping the people doing the work.
